The second-annual World Series
of Mahjong will be held from September 19-21, 2008
at fabulous
Wynn Macau resort in Macau. The tournament will
again offer a minimum, guaranteed cash prize
purse of US$1,000,000! The cost to join the tournament
is US$5,000. Prize money will be paid to
the top 32 places in the main tournament.
All tournament play is open to
any mahjong player who is at least 21 years of
age. Proof of age
will be required.
In addition to playing in the million
dollar main event, players will also have the
option to join any
one of WSOM circuit events, held the day prior
to the main tournament. A US$1,000 Reach (Riichi)
Rules tournament will be held that day, and other
circuit events will be announced in the near future.
