Participation in this year's event is expected to be much higher than last year following the remarkable success of the first-
annual World Series held in June, 2007. “Mahjong players around the world have witnessed the beginning of world
championship mahjong, and the considerable prize money available to top players. The news of the four finalists from last
year’s event has motivated lots of mahjong players around the world,” said Mr. John Hardyment, CEO of WML.

jewellery brand Steela + Steelo and Mr. Anthony Chum, winner of the 2007 International Adventure Race. All four are avid
mahjong players who are excited to enter the 2008 competition.

Following In Her Father’s Footsteps, Yu Makes Full Commitment to Mahjong and Acting

(30 January 2008, Taipei)Taiwanese “Mahjong Diva” Yu Xiao-Ping, daughter of Yu Tian, the newly-elected legislator
and veteran of Taiwan’s entertainment industry, will remain a formidable presence in the mahjong field this year. She is
currently the sole spokesperson for the Taiwan satellite of the second annual World Series of Mahjong, and scheduled to
attend the “Remy Taiwan Mahjong Tour”, sponsored by the world renowned Cognac Remy Martin. Yu Xiao-Ping, who has all
along hailed her father as her idol and role model, has learnt from her father how to make a determined and sustained effort
to achieve her goal in the entertainment field.

“Father has, over the years, made great contributions to the entertainment industry here. He has helped artistes to fight for
their rights, without considering any personal reward for himself. During his election campaign, he and my mother went
everywhere to solicit votes, on top of his work as a performing artiste. Indeed it seems that he has superhuman strength and
endurance!”

Yu hoped that she could display the same measure of determination as his father, “Through endorsing the ‘Remy Taiwan
Mahjong Tour’, I hope to promote the game of mahjong to all of Taiwan and even the world. In fact, mahjong will no longer
be just a leisure pastime among the Chinese. In fact, I hope to make it an Olympic sport some day!”

Yu also wished to find her true love at the mahjong table while promoting the “Remy Taiwan Mahjong Tour”. “Mahjong is a
game that requires intelligence and the harmony of body, mind and soul. It requires total concentration and logical deduction.
A true winner at the mahjong table will naturally display his charm. I do hope to be able to find my true love in the world of
Mahjong! However, he can’t win over me.” All potential Prince Charmings for the Mahjong Diva could get a chance to meet
her in person by purchasing Remy Martin products in Taiwan.

As Chinese New Year is fast approaching, the Yu family is going to enjoy mahjong together at home, “Every time, my brother
will do the set-up for the game, while my sister will always be the one to lose! My grandma will be the one to wait anxiously
for the game to start.” She also has five interesting tips for mahjong players:

1. Prevent any one from reading books behind your back!
2. Don’t let others pat your back!
3. Do wear red underwear;
4. Bring your lucky accessories with you;
5. Your favourite snacks will boost your energy!
