the Bayshore Pacific Group in
1988 and has worked extensively in the
supply, planning, design and management

parks, water parks and entertainment

Mr. James Mehren, President |

25-year resident of Taiwan, Mr. Mehren
is the former Executive Vice President
of Sports International, and the
former Managing Director of IMG Taiwan,
the Taiwan branch of the world’s largest
sports and entertainment
management company. Mr. Mehren has extensive
experience in the design, marketing
and management of
international sporting events, music
concerts and consumer festivals and
promotions. Mr. Mehren speaks fluent
Mandarin Chinese. |

Richard Young, Executive Producer |

Mr.
Young was the Director of Operations
for Sports International (Taiwan) prior
to joining ESPN STAR Sports in
1997. Mr. Young spent 8 years with ESPN
during which time he rose to the title
of V.P., Event Management Group
and Program Development, with overall
responsibility for the creation and
development of new event programming
tailored to specific Asian markets.

Alan Kwan, Rules Director |

Born
in Hong Kong, Alan went to university
in Canada and USA, and earned a Master’s
degree in Computer
Science at Cornell University. He is
a long-time mahjong scholar who studies
the game from a historical and
mathematical angle. He is also a board
game enthusiast, and won the first YINSH
World Championship in 2004
with an innovative strategy approach.
In addition to his native Cantonese,
and English, Alan speaks, reads and
writes Japanese fluently. |
